Script for Card Warp/Ocular T&R
One of the oldest quotes in literature (written on stone tablets), and
one of man's most persistent questions, from the book of JOB:
If a man die .... shall he live again?
More and more, as modern medicine occasionally snatches someone back from
the brink of death, we hear of experiences that may give us a clue to an
answer to this ancient question.
('search' thru cards for prepared face-card)
If we let THIS card (prepared face-card) represent a person, and THAT
(next card) card represent ... something 'mystical'....
the face of the card would be the "inner-man", the soul, or spirit,
(fold card in half, inserting other card, then reverse the folds
as in std card-warp.)
and this (back of card) will be the outer-man, the physical body.
These experiences typically go somewhat like this:
About the time doctors say the person has died, the person feels that they are
being accelerated through something like a tunnel, and when they come out of
that tunnel, they have left their body!.
(push card thru 'tunnel' card)
Of course they come back again, or we would not be hearing their story.
(push card back thru 'tunnel' card)
But when they are out of the body...
(push card half way, displaying half and half)
... they look back and see their body, and they are attached to it by
what now looks like an umbilical cord.
(Display cards edge-on to audience.)
While in this 'out-of-the-body' condition, they report seeing a being of
brilliant light (FISM FLASH). This being seems to be the personification of
infinite love, and the person does not want to leave, but in these reports,
they are returned to their bodies, and tell us of this encounter.
It is said that if this 'chord' is broken, the soul is permanently separated
from the body, and the person really dies .....
(tear the 'tunnel' card, and the face card in two, remove the face-card
halves, tear them again, and dispose of the 'tunnel' halves.)
and the body is buried and decays.
( display torn pieces, and prepare for OCULAR T&R, or put in card box)
Christians believe that one day, the soul will be reunited with that restored-
resurrected body "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet"
(do the OCULAR T&R, or open card box displaying restored card.)
